Russia Banned From International Sport Competitions

On Monday, an Anti-Doping agency banned Russia from playing athletes in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the World Cup in 2022. This comes almost six months before the Olympic Games begin in June 2020. WADA said that they found substansial evidence that Russia deleted files on their players that potentially showed their use of doping drugs. In 2018, they were suspended from playing in the Pyongang, South Korea Winter Olympics, but athletes could play if they proved they were not using drugs to stimulate their performance. While the ban is in effect, Russia can not bid for international games to be played in their country, such as the 2032 Summer Olympics. There is no word on whether or not Russia will appeal the ruling.
