Last night, the House passed two articles of impeachment against the president after long hours of debate that began from morning and into the evening hours. Republicans were admant in their opposition to the “sham impeachment”, but House Democrats stayed strong in their pursuit against the president. Although, 3 Democrats in total voted against both counts, and one voted present. The vote was passed 229-198 on the first article, and 230-197 on the second, which was Obstruction of Congress. Afterwards, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference where her caucus is planning on going next, which the articles are on their way to the Senate, which will hold a formal impeachment trial and either acquit or convict the president. The trial is set for January.
