What is sleep deprivation? It’s self explanatory; it’s not getting the right amount of sleep each night. Is sleep deprivation the same as insomnia? No, sleep deprivation is an effect of insomnia. Insomnia includes, sleep deprivation, sleep difficulty, and depression. Sleep deprivation is an effect of insomnia. You can ‘self diagnose’ yourself with insomnia, but it’s better if you have a doctor that diagnoses you. You can get sleeping medication if you are diagnosed with insomnia. The symptoms of sleep depravation include; daytime sleepiness, mood swings, and yawning. Some say you should exercise for half an hour six to seven hours before you go to sleep. It is said to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine. Those three things will mess up your normal sleeping pattern. In a study it said that sleep deprivation can lead to new respiratory illnesses.
