Claire Halsey got Senior Patriot of the Month. She believes she was chosen for her character and her outstanding grades.  Claire participates in National Honors Society, Beta Club, and also Student Council. Her favorite things about Independence happens to be the teachers, her friends, and also the fact that IHS has many different types of people. Claire said, “I think it’s great that they don’t always shun people for not being the same as they are.” Meaning others will not be mean to students for not being the same. “Being Patriot of the Month is cool,” Claire commented. After high school she is unsure what she wants to do, but along the way and throughout her life she aspires to help others as much as possible.
